Leave cleanly, when you choose.

Before you begin

Account deletion is permanent. Household owners must transfer ownership to another adult or delete the household first. Deleting Family Hub does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel it separately to stop renewal charges.

01

Delete your account in the app

You do not need to send a request or wait for support when you can access Family Hub.

  1. 1
    Open account settings

In Family Hub, go to Settings → Delete account.

  2. 2
    Confirm your identity

Confirm with your password or Google sign-in. This permanently deletes your sign-in account.

  3. 3
    Resolve household ownership

If you own a household, first use Members → Transfer ownership to choose another adult, or use Members → Delete household.

02

What gets deleted

  • Your sign-in account. Your email, display name, and Family Hub sign-in account are permanently removed.
  • Your member-specific data. When you leave or are removed from a household, member settings, preferences, and reminder subscriptions associated with you in it are deleted.
  • A household you choose to delete. Deleting a household permanently removes its shopping lists, meal plans, chores and points, finances, dates, loyalty cards, wishlist items, chat messages, medication records and dose history, and uploaded photos.

03

What can remain in a shared household

Shared content stays with the household

Content you added to a shared household—for example, shopping items or recipes—remains there unless that content or the household itself is deleted. This is similar to a group conversation retaining messages after one member leaves.

Technical crash diagnostics are processed separately by Firebase Crashlytics under Google's service settings and terms; they are not household content.

04

Cancel a Google Play subscription separately

Account deletion does not stop Google Play billing

Google Play manages Family Hub Plus separately from your Family Hub account. Deleting your account or household does not cancel the subscription or stop renewal charges.

To stop renewal, open Manage subscriptions in Google Play while signed in to the Google Account that made the purchase, select Family Hub Plus, and cancel it. Google Play shows when paid access ends.

05

Request deletion by email

If you can no longer access the app, email familyhub.support@gmail.com from the address used for your Family Hub account. Use the subject “Family Hub account deletion.” We will delete the account and confirm within 30 days. A deletion request does not cancel a Google Play subscription, so use the separate cancellation step above if you subscribed.
